We Need Volunteers!

Bell Church, a United Methodist congregation, has long been actively engaged in charitable service to the community of Leicester, NC and beyond. Our clothing, educating, feeding, and sheltering efforts continue; from the time our church was established in 1866, through the great depression, the most recent pandemic, and even now as Western North Carolina recovers from a devastating storm that deprived our neighbors of essential services.

Tropical Storm Helene presents new challenges. It has pushed our small church’s volunteer resources to the limit and we need help!

We are grateful to have received a steady stream of donations from groups in Lavonia Georgia, Charlotte and Taylorsville North Carolina, as well as Charleston and Rock Hill South Carolina. Moving these materials out to the people in need requires sizing, sorting, sifting, packing totes, and hanging clothing on racks.

The Blessing Boxes adjacent to the highway provide people within our community 24/7 access to supplies, such as food, to meet essential needs. These must continuously be restocked with necessary items while also being maintained and reinforced to better survive weather events.
